Compressor surging, or making a rattling noise
  1. This is likely because newer units have an upgraded compressor. This sound can be caused by a large difference in speed between the interior fan and the compressor. Appropriately match the fan speed and compressor speed closer together like so: (When in Sleep mode turn the fan speed down to low. When on Turbo mode make sure the fan speed is on high, etc.)
  2. Possibly related to a mismatch between fan speed and compressor speed. Switch to ECO or Sleep mode at fan speed 2-3 and let the unit run for five minutes to see whether the noise goes away
