Velit Air Heater Error 13 Fan Speed Abnormal or Error 08 Fan Motor
How to Resolve a Rubbing or Blocked Fan on a Velit Gas or Diesel Air Heater E8 or E13
Sometimes from shipping or from not being fully seated in it's case - the fan motor can require adjustment. The fan is riding on an axle connected to the inside fan. It's always just the outside fan that needs adjustment if it shifted during transport.
Diagnosis: E8 or E13 and you can see, hear or feel resistance in the fan when spinning with your finger with the snowflake cover off and the heater off.
This is typically an easy fix that can be done with the heater installed in place. You'll need 2 screwdrivers, and allen wrench set (metric) and to remove the top case and ECU from it's mount.
Error 13 Fan Speed Abnormal - There are sensors on the fan and inside the ECU that monitor the fanspeed. If the fan is rubbing on ANYTHING it will throw a Error 13 and lockout the heater requiring power reset for 15+ seconds.
Error 08 Fan Motor - We rarely see fan motors go bad, it's more likely rather blocked(rubbing) or unplugged from bottom of ecu (not fully seated connector).
