How to power a Velit Portable Gas or Diesel Air Heater
How does the Velit portable gas or diesel air heater connect to power?
The Velit portable air heater requires 12V power source with 15+ amp rating. The unit ships with a ~8ft power cord that has a XT60 connection with adapter for cigarette lighter port.
Some portable heaters are supplied with a firmware that allows them to run on some 10amp cigarette ports.
The glow plug requires up to 15amps available to get red hot to allow for combustion during startup. After startup, the heater draws very little power and amperage.
You can also connect the power wire directly to 12V fuse blocks or batteries directly but this may require the use of power adapters or custom wiring but should not be an issues.
